Situated in the heart of the 12th arrondissement, SAARGALE - which means "to render homage" in Wolof - features ethical and chic goods by African and Diaspora artisans, artists and young designers in the fields of fashion, design, furniture, photography, and literature.
The mastermind behind this project is Senegalese designer ADAMA PARIS, the founder of BLACK FASHION WEEK PARIS and BLACK FASHION WEEK DAKAR. ADAMA has dedicated 20 years to highlighting African fashion and through SAARGALE, she hopes to provide greater visibility for talented designers from the continent.
Meticulously curated, ADAMA PARIS insisted that SAARGALE stock products that are not only conscientiously sourced and made but they must also tell an authentic story. Amongst the brands you'll find on display:
- Adama Paris
- Bouswari Bags
- Buuna Coffee
- Lahad Gueye
- Marché Noir
- Ousmane Mbaye Design
- Royal Cuir
- Saargale Mobilier
- Sakia Lek
Aside from a unique shopping destination, ADAMA PARIS also sees SAARGALE as a community gathering space. Future plans include a series of events and exchanges geared towards exploring the best of Africa and the Diaspora as well as a terrace bar which will give customers an opportunity to sample a range of teas and coffees from Ethiopia, Burundi, Kenya, and Senegal.
